Yang-hsi Hsiao was born in Gongliao, Taiwan, the water conservation area and close to the fourth nuclear power plant. She was deeply influenced by egging and protesting in the hometown. After graduating from Visual Communication Design Department, she works as graphic and visual designer for many years.
Her works have multifaceted relations with the commercial, theatre, and art worlds. She had solo exhibition "Da Yin Wang Shan" and received the Award for Young Artist by Ministry of Culture in 2016. She was the visual designer of "Anger", "Outsider", "Sloth" for Approaching Theatre, "親近土地計畫II", "The End of the Rainbow" for Mauvais Chausson Dance Theatre and "二路埋伏" for The Black Dog Theatre. She was the painter of "The Black Waves" for Ghost Mountain Ghost Shovel. She was a designer in GrassJelly Visual Production Company and participated several video projects, including concerts of Jolin’s "Play Tour", Sodagreen's "Story Endless" Opening Title and music video of Jane Zhang’s "Dust my shoulders off", Momo's "My Lips"...etc.
